Not sure what the rev limit is on the standered ecu but have changed mine and put a gizzmo chip in it. Its very popular with the early evo's. Can now rev mine up to 8500 rpm if i want not that i do though. These chips are pritty good and have enabled me to get 310bhp @ 280 lbs ft of torque. You will need to put a sard adjustable fuel regulator on aswell though as the chip will make the fuel run very rich. I know there has been a couple of gizzmo chipped ecu's for sale on the MLR and 1,2 & 3 ecu's are all compatable as they are the same. You can also buy the chip from Gizzmo based in new zealand for around £200 but you will need an expert solderer to put it in the ecu as it is very fiddly and hard to do. Too much heat and the tracks on the ecu will melt
If you need there web site let me know and i will find it for you.
