De-cat questions

...shhhhhhh......don't want the missus to hear but I'm pondering over de-cating the car and need a few questions answering please..

1.How much would the pipe be to replace the cat roughly?

2.I'm certain theres sensors/wires going to the cat,so what happens to them .ie. does a light come on on the dash board warning that theres something wrong with the cat type thing?

3.Will the insurance company need notifing about the "mod"?

4.When I take it back for servicing will I need to put the cat back on?

5.Will it be any noisier?

Cheers.
