Genius needed... Evo 4 over heating problems...

Hey all,

My Evo 4 has recently decided to get a little steamy!

2 weeks ago the top rad hose corroded, sprung a leak and started pissing water everywhere, I taped it up until i got it to a garage to fit a new pipe. Since then I have fitted silicone hoses for the coolling system.

Now the top rad hose, after use, is hot and the bottom hose is stone cold, the header tank seems to start boiling nicely and my temp gauge is through the roof (had her for two years now and the temperature has never even sniffed over the half way mark)

Our first thought was an air lock so we bled the system... no joy, removed the top rad hose and back filled the rad... still nothing!

I am getting absolutely no heat through the vents which would seem to me to be a circulation problem rather than anything else if its cold... could it be down to the thermostat? I want to take it off and test it but have been told that they are a bugger to re-fit and being bank holiday weekend, no where has been open to get it looked at properly.

Any kind of info you guys could share would be most helpful.

Cheers

Jon

is your water pump working? just thinking as it does not sound as if the water is circuilating (spl) around the system.

ahh, I have no idea, its definately seems to be a circulation problem of some kind. If the problem persists after I have fitted the new thermostat tomorrow eve I will check over the pump.

Cheers jabbywocky
