Is this crankwalk??

If im driving with my foot resting lightly on the clutch pedal when i lift off the power the clutch pedal drops very slightly (probably about 10mm) It only seems noticable in higher gears and generally after accelerating enouhg to get the turbo spooling.

Points worth noting:

The clutch master cylinder appears to be leaking slightly where the rod goes into the bulkhead from the inside.

The clutch pedal box assembly split in half the other day, we have welded it put it back in.

I dont usually drive with my foot on the clutch, its just a heard this can be a way of checking for movement in the crank!

So....is this the crank/bearings moving or something to do with the leak in the master cylinder??

Cheers
Martin

Martin, i thought you had it checked regularly? theres only one way to be sure and thats get underneath,i doubt that you would feel it through the pedal, more likely that the pedal just gets less and less

Never really checked it that way Martin but.......
Knowing how the pedal disapears when it has got walk it tends to just stay there,glimmer_man's for example is really bad,crank/block/bearings fooked with at least 3mm play,i did the walk mod and it eat the bearing in a week! (although it was this bad before it came i just didn't realise) so last time we went overboard on the mod and used a genuine bearing, now it hasn't got any worse, the clutch works fine but the pedal doesn't come back fully,so even though there is pressure on the crank it wont push the flywheel away enough for the pedal to pop back smart.
Your problem sounds more like the fingers on the clutch being uneven but i doubt even that would send a pulse back through the pedal
