overboost/fuel cut AGAIN!!

Hi

some of you may remember my E5 suffered from this a while back. Had it sorted by BTR by having a new E9 actuator fitted

Last night on my way to work i had a bit of a play with a 54 plate M3 . Had it in low boost setting on my HKS EVC 4 & everything was fine. I was pulling away slightly & going better through the twisties :-)

As i exited a roundabout I decided to really go for it & put my EVC into high boost(1.25bar) I get to 5.5k rpm then i get fuel cut the same as when my actuator was buggered :???:

Anyways. I back off & decide to put it back into low boost. Mr M3 had given up by this point anyways Altho got a nice wave from him as he caught me up at traffic lights :-)

So on my way home from work this morning i get on the mway & decide to test high boost again. I let the revs creep up slowly & it does it again at about 5.5k rpm :x

Anybody got any ideas? Shouldn't my EVC be controlling boost? I did also find a HKS fuel cut defenser hard wired into my ECU loom the other week aswel. Could this be the prob

Thanks

Nothing is that accurate that it can control boost to .5bar even AVCR's have trouble when setting them on the limit, its mostly to do with conditions weather etc etc

You would probably be better trying to set high boost to 1.2bar then this should cover you no matter what

For f*cks sake!!

This is really starting to get on my t*ts now :anger1: I lowered high boost to 1.2bar a few weeks ago. Since then i've used high boost probably 5-6 times. Saturday night I gave a mate a lift home. Nice 13 mile journey on some nice A roads. He's not been in an Evo before so I decide to have a bit of a play So he can see how it compares to his Lambo Diablo

Anyways, things are goin great & he's impressed. So half way thro the journey i'm exiting a roundabout onto a nice down hill 1.5 mile straight so i hit high boost button. Revs fly up to 5.5k rpm then WALLOP!!!! Fuel cut again

Looks like i'm def gonna have to get a remap & get it properly sorted. May help if I fit the Walbro fuel pump I got last week

Craig
Even the avcr struggles to maintain correct boost on certain days,it very much depends on the day you set it up in the first place, get the ecu flashed to remove the cut altogether, then problem should be sorted

Yep, defo intend on getting remap now

Altho I wanna make sure i've got a 3" downpipe & decat fitted 1st. I was going to get Ecutek at TRL. Altho was talking to a guy yesterday at D-tech Performance in Huddersfield. He was telling me they'll be ding Turboxs mapping soon. Just waiting for new dyno to be installed in a few weeks.

I've not heard much about Turboxs ECU remaps. Most people on here & MLR seem to go for Ecutek. In fact after a quick Google there doesn't seem to be much in the way of Turboxs going on in the UK.

Good news is that they're also gonna be doing Ecutek. Not sure how long they've been doing mapping so i'm a little unsure. May just play it safe & stick to TRL

Your car seems to be having problems at night, when it is cold, so air induction is heavier. As Pete says turn the boost down or remap to remove the fuel cut. However I would of thought removing the fuel cut will cause problems as it is there for aa reason
