My II once Again!!

Just wanted to tell you guys bout my saga with my II and let anybody who has missed me know that my computer is knackered so I cant get on the net!!!

Those in the know have heard bout my situation, bought the car from westmoors in Bournemouth for a shade under £5000 and have had tons of problems where at first they where happy to help out when it was just faulty valve lifters but as soon as I had it diagnosed with a head gasket problem they have been very reluctant to help me, and have fobbed me off with various excuses everytime denying a head gasket.

Well the other day I got it back :-) very happy I was until the very same day it blew a hose on the coolant system, then it blew it again after a temporary repair, then it blew another after I replaced the one that blew twice!!
Now my engine has gone pop!! When it went there was alot of oil and a fair bit of smoke and I wasnt even giving it beans, the temp gauge was reading fine and the car seemed OK!!!
Then another hose went pop and then there was smoke and oil like I said before!! So now the car is parked up in my garage.

Any help or pointers anybody know what it could be, I think I know what the problem is and jsyk the car does start and run but I know it's shed an awful lot of oil!!

Also another thing has come to light, I found that the HT leads have melted to my spark plugs so it seems like I have been done up a kipper on this occasion!! Any help there!!

Again I bought it from Westmoors Motor Company so its up to you guys if you want to purchase something from there but I have spent most of my time seeing it on the back of recovery lorries or sat in my garage!!

Again if anyone can give me advice (other than you shouldn have bought it from there) on any of these thing's that would be dandy!!!

TIA.

Wow that sucks. I'd be looking at getting people involved to get your money back, how long have you had it???

Get onto VOSA, Citizens Advice, Solicitor.... anything to get your hard earned cash back. I would.

My II

I know what your saying Aidy but I've already been through that, there was a long saga where I was fighting with the dealer and waiting to get stuff done but no I have run out of patience with these idiots and it seems like everytime I get it back something else goes wrong so I'm just sick of it!!!
I would rather it just get sorted now and get it fixed!!

Cheers though mate!!

Got your pm mate something is very wrong with all this mate to be honest it sounds like they dont have a clue what to do or how to fix these cars if any! Where abouts are you in the country? I think the best option is to get the car to someone who knows exactly what they are doing and not a garage that dont deal with these type of cars. Weather or not your engine is a gonna i cant say but in your shoes i would get the car low loaded to a garage (you could give petbeemer a pm or ring) and get them to have a look and get it fixed for you. I think its the only option im affraid not a nice introduction into evo ownership but when you get it fixed mate you will enjoy! Hope you manage to get it sorted, let me know how you get on

Send a pm to vince (username Budman) to see where the nearest decent garage to fix your car. He's only located in Bournemouth not that far from you.

Doesn't sound good though.

If I was you I would see if you could take the car back to the dealers and reject it under the sale of goods act as it's not fit for it's purpose. Get your money back and find a decent evo. I don't know how you would stand but it's worth asking trading standards or someone similar.

Good luck

Cheers guys I will try and sort something out. All help and advice is noted and again I want to thank all of ya.
Ben I know your right mate, as soon as she's running properly everything will be sweet, just really agrevated that it keeps happening over and over again.
Like I said to anyone out there thinking of buying an evo, think before you go to Westmoors Motor company now based in Christchurch.

M8 they have to fix it,if there reg'd as a trader you have a right to take them to court, stick the car in somewhere that knows what there doing and send them the bill when the work is finished and your happy with it.
first thing to do is send the trader a recorded delivery letter stating why and what your not happy about and if they don't sort it for and also state that court proceedings will follow should they not comply, if they dont do anything then small claims is the next move, unfortunatley even if the court rule in your favour(which they probably will) they can still pay on the never never which will probably mean you have payed for the work and waiting for them to pay you!
Good luck
