is this ECU for my car if not was s it for??

the guy i bought my car from told me the orginal ecu that came with the car stoped workin, i got it from him anyway, and when i chked the part numbers on the one in the car and the one in my buddy car they are the same but the one he say is the original ecu, he also said the car really use to eat throught the RPM when the dead ecu was workin. . .the part number on it is:

MD175663
E2T38374

i took it to two guys that fix ECUs and they both told me they think its the eprom that is fried. . .would i be able to buy an upgraded one and roll from here? thanks

what car are we talking about,evo 1-3 are easy to replace but 4-9 are a 200 pin unit that aint so easy to replace

O crap sorry, my car is a 93' Lancer GSR 1.8t awd. i want to know about the ecu that was originally in the car, thats what the part numbers are off of, cause the one in my car and my buddy car is not the same.

number on side is 5663

on the eprom thats in it is 'E449b'

Hmm not up on the 1800 side of the ecu other than i know you can swap it out for an evo 1-2

the swappin thing i know about for sure, cause i got an evo2 ecu along with the car, when its pluged in the car dont even want to idle. . .way to much gas lol lol

what is the difference between the 5663 and the 7377 gsr 1.8t ECUs?
i see they sellin chips but they hav to be specific to the ECU bein used, why?

Not sure, are both processors the same? the only other way would be to read both chips
