Walbro pump failing

Hi all
I recently had my Walbro 255 ltrs/hr pump fitted. Soon after fitting i noticed that it was making a loud whining/whistling sound (kinda like a sine wave "oooooooooo", like in the olden days when BBC2 used to "Closedown"!!). Ive also recently noticed that the sound ocilliates when you operate the indicators (bending up and down in pitch a bit like a police siren)
Searching on other forums there doesnt seem to be a consensus on whether it is normal or not.

Anyone got any experience on these?

Cheers
Martin

Miy fuel pump's a Sytec, but it makes a very similar noise.

I soon got used to it. Burying the throttle normally drowns the noise out pretty well :muhaha:

Mine does the same Martin, even changes tone with the indicators etc.. I could compose a bloody tune on the thing.

However, I did try fitting a voltage stabiliser the other week (I don't usually believe in stuff like this, but a mate convinced me), it still whines as loud as ever - but doesn't seem to be loosing power when I switch the indicators on. Not sure if it's down to the stabiliser, or it's just not doing it at the moment?

Cheers
Pete
