EVO IV vs EVO VI ??

What power gains or ability of gains can be achieved by putting a VI ecu in a IV?????

Now i am no expert and may be wrong , but i think to fit a 6 ecu into a 4 needs a few alterations to the connections , and also i dont think there will be any gains whatsoever.

So really we are looking at a ralliart or (more expensive) ecutek or autronic its just that i thought the boost could be tweaked a little higher without cut etc.

Not sure what the boost cut level is on a 4 ecu? But on a standard 6 ecu its around 1.3-1.4 bar

the standard E5 ecu fits the E4 fine, . The E6 one also works, but the battery doesnt charge and one wire need snipping to sort this.

BUT, the E4 runs different cams & injectors & turbo to the 5/6, so the map will need sorting, or the later cams/injectors/turbo to be fitted

hope this helps as far as ecutek is concerned it wont work on an evo iv mate as the pinouts are different so you would either need to change your evo iv ecu to a v or vi ecu or go for a different option apexi do an ecu for the iv

So what your saying is you still have to have a standard ecu (ie V or above) in order to use a ecutek as
i was under the impression that a ecutek replaced the whole old ecu thus not requiring the old one at all.
