popping and banging

dont know if this is in the right bit but since de-catting ive discovered that on the over run in mainly second and third gear if i blip the throttle i can almost gaurantee to get a 'backfire' or somthing similar. Defo pops and bangs, but wether its flaming i dont know! Sounds good but should it be doing this and is it damaging anything?

mine does it from 1st-2nd then 2nd-3rd mate........it's just unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust.......depending on the type of exhaust you might get a small flash out the exhaust same as what happens on a rally car
as for damage...it hasnt killed mine.......yet!!! :???:

'depending on the type of exhaust'....think its a 3 inch pipe with a 4.5 or 5 inch exit on the backbox, unfortunatley i dont know what make but its not standard, it was on the car when i bought it. Its a bit sooted up mind, on the exit bit. I need to get someone to follow me to know for sure!!! Wont do it with the cat on, i tried during the MOT week :muhaha:

As Marksman has already said, it's common thing to happen when the cat has been removed nothing to worry about.

what type is it re: vent to atmosphere / recirc or both
the people at forge said they dont recomend putting bov on the 1,2,3
if its a vent to atmos as it affects the maff in some way ????
i fitted the hybred vents and recircs some of the air back to the system
it has a adjustment on it if it starts to back fire or hesitate on gear changes
you unscrew the nipple1/4 a turn at a time till it stops
no doubt some one will correct me on this if im wronge :muhaha:
but this is the one i have on my car
just a susgestion hope it helps
