Evo 7 xt330 broke piston

hi i have joined this forum for a friend to find out if anybodycan assist in advising for an upgraded piston for his evo 7
the car is very very low milage serviced at xtreme since day one and had there xt 330 kit.
the car is looked after very well.but two weeks ago under accelarating in 2nd gear upto the limiter changed intpo 3rd and lost all power and would not restart,anyway to the point after days of inspection,and cyclinder head off revealed one piston cracked between two valve cutouts.has anybody else had this and could shed some light as to would could of caused it,and what things whether it be electronic ormechanical things could be added to stop this haappening in the future!!many thanks for reading this.rob :???:

the piston has a bit broken of the top leaving the top ring exposed!
just thought i would see if anyone could shed some light on would could of caused this!
standard car apart from this from ww.xtreme-uk.net
