Tyre pressures
When i had 17" wheels i had fitted some Toyo proxes t1-r's 215/40/17 and set the pressures to 32 psi front and 30 psi rear. Seemed to work a treat.
Now i am on 16's with Toyo proxes t1-r's 205/50/16 with the same pressures as i used on the 17" tyres and not working too well. There seems to be alot of flex in the tyre wall when cornering :???: There has been rumor that these tyres work will in low profile but not too well when tyre wall as large :???:
My questions are, what pressures do people run on 16" tyres and to stop the tyre flex would it be best to up the pressures? It says on the tyres inflate no than 45 psi but obviously that is too high. Might have to have a play around and see what works best.

ben like you say your gonna get a lot more wall flex with higher profile its just a fact of life (and physics) im afraid :???:
y did you go back too 16's????
reckon you should try a couple (2/3) more psi in the front and rear for a while see how you get on
its a hit n miss game with tyre pressures i think
let me know how you get on buddy

Ian aka the Tyrant has started a hate club for the Toyos. He said they seem to have too much flex on the tyre walls. We have T1S on the astra and to be honest I don't like them, they seem to break free quite easily.
We have just sourced (only one company out of 10 can get them) two new tyres for the evo BF Goodridge Profiler G's(15's) for £56 + vat and to be honest we have never had a problem with them and they are a great all round tyre.
We have got the same problem with our 17's, I think it will be a case of speaking to Dave Gammon as he likes the Hancooks and we will see which ones he uses and try them.

Tyre pressures are a bit of a black art im afraid mate and id say a large % of it is personal preference.
You probably will need more psi due to the higher profile. Try an extra 2 up front and 1.5 at the rear for starters and work your way up gradually.

Weve never rated the toyos on any cars weve had always changed to the BFs, when we got our IV we changed them all round to BF Goodridge G-Force 205/50/16 and ran them 32 rear and 30 front we found that best, and we run the BF's on the 17s aswell.

Thanks all :-) will have a play with them and adjust the pressures bit by bit and see how it goes. If that dont work then its tuff sh1te and will have to put up with them for a while as they are only 6 months old.
They seemed to work well with the 17's to be honest and really rated them but on 16's im not too sure.
Kenny, i had the chance to get some Advan RC II lightweight racing wheels and swap for my 17's which were very heavy. I have used 15, 16 and 17" alloys now and have found in my opinion that the car seems to prefer 16". 172 does look 8) but would rather work better than look better if you know what i mean
