Advice needed on potential purchase

Hi guys,

im new to the evo world and know nothing about them, i have been to look at car which looks mint but thought i would ask the people in the know before making any decisions

so heres the details

1994 L MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION 2 Turbo 4 Door Saloon
Metalic Green/Black, 26000 Miles, Central Locking, Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, Climate Control, Power Steering, Alloy Wheels, One Owner , Full Service History.Just Serviced Plus cam belt change., £4495

the car looks very well cared for inside and out , the only thing thats bugging me is the cambelt has been changed at 26000 miles

now i used to have an MR2 Turbo before some nice person wrote it off last week, and the cambelt change on those was 60k miles.

what do people think? like i said i know nothing about Lancers/evos so any advice is aprreciated.

thanks

Si

Firstly to the site

The car looks very clean and I don’t think I have seen an evo of that age with such low mileage, as for the cam belt I wouldn’t worry too much about it I would have had it change early also.

Good luck
Matt

seems extremely low that mileage m8.i would check for other signs like shiny steering wheel, worn gear knob and pedal rubbers etc.dont forget at sometime in its life it has been converted from kilometres so that makes the mileage even lower.has it got any paperwork with it fom the import? ie can they prove its a 1 owner and that is the original mileage.also the colour is pyrenees black pearl (same as ours).

yeah i thought it was pretty low mileage as well, and was thinking about the phrase "if it looks too good to be true..."

but its got all the documentation, mileage is correct as well spent a good hour looking over it, the intereior is spotless, got some more pics here

speaking to someone on lancerregister who has also seen and driven it, and according to him there was nothing wrong with it, aside from the ususal small stone chips it just needs a good clean and polish.

Si if u want, I will go over to see it with you
seems like a pretty good deal to me
at Southampton a 2 went for £3500 last week but then needed mot, uk reg, tow to Ipswich etc... and it had 60000 miles on the clock

Looks like a good un to me, so long as the documentation is all in order i'd go for it hun :muhaha:

As Matt said don't worry too much about the cambelt being done too soon, A lot of evo owners air on the side of caution and get it done early

Good luck with it and to evo.net babes

Tina. xx
