What's the common issue with a E6? (hopefully not a repost)

Hey guys,

I might be in the market to get myself a dream Evo 6. However, i'm rather new in terms of Evos. Currently driving a 200sx in aust.

So, here's my question: What's the common issues with a Evo 6 (not TME)?? I heard, due to the vented bonnet holes, Evo tend to get rusty manifold head....is that right??

Hopefully, someone can enlight me with more Evo knowledge.

Cheers,
Ryan

As long as you keep your car clean you shouldn’t have any problems with the bodywork there are only two main problems with the evo and that is the clutch that can go very easily and the brakes that then to warp on the front it ever used on track.

Have a read of the buyers guide also loads of helpful info :wink

i think the main problem with the VI is the fact that they usually suffer from STUCK or RUSTED actuators
the actuators are very poor design on the VI and the vents do allow water to drip onto the actuator

the actuator from the VIII fits perfectly and has a little cap to stop sticking and rusting.
never heard of problems of rusting manifold because of the vents as there is a heat shield covering the manifold

you may have heard a whisper about uprated manifolds cracking

As Matt says give the buyers guide a read. It should answer a lot of your questions. :muhaha:
