Garage broke my car

Put my car in for a mot today and it failed on emmisions

Anyway i took it home, got less than 2 miles from garage and temp gauge was off scale at 110

Stopped and checked it, when i undid exspantion tank cap, all this brown water came firing out

Dare say thats the head gasket given up?????????

Thing is guy at garage was on about this new way they do test where they input details into system and it takes about an hours and half

With car not passing emmisions he said it took full time to do test, where as a healthy car will take minutes

Also had about 1/4 of a tank and its all gone so cars been clearly left running for some time

He's not taken it out for a run as milage was same as when i put it in

WHERE DO I STAND AND CAN I DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!

Wouldnt be so bad if it passed but that fact mot cost me £44 then £6 for redX (to try cleaning injectors to pass mot) then a new head gasket

Well I took one of our cars in for MOT today, took about half hour in total. (granted it was the Merc) but as I'm aware it should only take half hour with the engine running to do the emissions and that's at the very most!

On the other hand, it could be the head gasket was already on it's way? Difficult one to prove :???:

Yeh kinda knew that, i suppose unless they actually took it out and i could prove they were "thrashing it and 4uck3d it theres not much i can do

Good thing is iv got a good mechanic and says he'll take it in b4 monday and do gasket easily in a day, last time it went on other car he charged me £70 for job which was lucky one as bought car cheap with the understanding that a con rod had snapped

I would say it sounds the same to me

The head gasket looks like it was on it way out I wouldn't have thought that the mot would have damaged the gasket

Sorry to hear , but a mot station cant really be blamed for a head gasket going in any way or form really . i tyhink its just how its happened - must have already been on its way out for definate

You will soon have another one one :-)
