trackday insurance

Does anyone on here use trackday insurance if so who do you use and how much is it?

Also what are the stipulations i.e does it cover the whole cost of the car should it get trashed on track?

Also what is the excess on this type of insurance and do you need to inform your everyday insurance company?

And finally is it actually worth the paper it is written on?

cheers peeps

Hey hun,

I used it for the first couple I did, but then thought why bother.

Guess its personal really hun, excess was around £2,500 for me insuring full car value, but it only covers body not mechanical anyway.

If you roll the car then yes i reckon its well worth it, we all know you can write it off it you do that, but if you feel confident then go with the flow hun.

There are a few good companies out there the best is Competition insurance IMO, they came up with the best quote for me

£180 for the day for total car value

£120 for the day for £12,000 cover

To be honest with you Tuppy I have heard of a few people crashing on track with no insurance and every one of them has taken the plates off the car and rang the insurance company and said it happened on the road and had no problems at all

But there is always that maybe in the back of your mind :???:
