slight mishap, need advice

ok peeps, i have a dilema!

on friday i was on my way to darlington to get some paintball supplies, about a mile away from junction 57 on the a1 my car starting making one hell of a vibration that my mate and i could feel, especially through the accelerator pedal.
from there i slowed down to 60mph and was looking out for a junction to pull off at or a services, but i didnt quite make it that far..........
just after i pulled into the inside lane infront of a truck the vibration got even worse and then all of a sudden BANG!!!!!!!!!!!...........massive ploom of smoke came out of the back and lots of bits went flying into the truck behind us. then it got even worse, there was a constant banging noise coming from under the car, i quickly pulled over to find that my transfer box had..well exploded. after poking my head under the car from the passenger seat i found my prop shaft wedging itself into the road with at that time part of the transfer box still attached.....(mr rac, i need a lift), how it did not dig in and flip us i do not know!

under more investigation today found out that a bearing had collapsed, then the chain reaction that lead to my prop shaft liberating itself from the transfer box (pics to follow shortly) and finding bits had dented and scuffed my floor pan about 1cm from my fuel/brake lines!(that could of been fun!)

the transfer box is well.....gone and the prop is seriously damaged, but the gearbox looks ok but cant be sure.

now the advice i need is should i bother fixing this due it being a lancer 1800t gsr? due to its going to cost a couple of grand, or do i put a evo3 engine in etc? or what other engines could i put in and what price would i be looking at? and can anyone recommended anywhere for advice/prices/parts etc???

oh and MERRY XMAS everyone!

cheers

ian

My first stop would be either Wayne at AMS or Gaz at CPP.

Both should be able to give you advice and possibly supply parts!

Hope you get it sorted fella!
