trouble getting optimax

anyone else having this? Went to fuel up today and my regular shell had all the optimax pumps locked up, noticed the other day they only had one optimax pump on the go instead of about 5.......luckily here in scunthorpe we have two shells so me and the pulsar GTi-R bloke who was in the same boat had a rapid dash down to it........

Only had a quarter tank left as well.

This cant be cos of that fuel dump fire can it????

Hi there mate we have all got the same problem and i was advised today that it is because the tankers that are designated for delivering optimax have all been used for feeding the south of england with fuel and optimax is not important to them as long as they can keep all garages stocked up with unleaded.I know this does jack sh*t for all us evo owners but this is the reason for the problem caused by that fire 2 weeks ago,theres none in scunthorpe,grimsby,lincoln.

the one near asdas in scunthorpe had all its optimax pumps open today, luckily. I think the nearest is grimsby from here but wether quarter of a tank would get me there i wouldnt like to find out. I brimmed it so that should do me for say......a couple of hours :muhaha: :muhaha: :bluelaugh:

I thought it was just me who was having trouble getting the optimax!!!

None in York, last time in Harrogate there was some, but was told it was getting low!

I got told at York that there were only two places that made it; one was Hemel Hempstead, the other is Liverpool and apparently they are stopping making it!!!

Any suggestions on what to with the usual "performance" unleaded petrol? Although my baby is up for sale, I can certainly notice the difference in performance.

apparently tescos is doing some 99ron but ours here have no plans on getting any and our nearest is peterboro, which sort of defeats the object, as a full tank would get me to peterboro and back lol.

hi louby lou if you come to York the shell garage on lawrence street have got some, if not try sainsburys they still have good petrol there.

I have 4 garages around me that sell Optimax..and none of them have any...so made do with Tesco 99 Ron
