As far as i know he never had a mi-vec to ditch!
Read the article Mat :muhaha:
I have Steve thank you, so you think a massive tuning firm like JUN don't know what they are doing? The whole point of the Mivec is to have low and high lift on the camshaft at different points of the rev range so to optimize torque, now the Main reason they didn't use the Mivec is A. its an unknown quantity for really high output 4G63's and B. the biggest, is software for the cam control for the Mivec is still unavailable in Motec, gems and Autronic.
What we do know is that its making the numbers far lower down the rev range in both standard and tuning form for a lot less outlay!
Ive been with 4 IX's now Steve, all had fuel pump, full exhaust/decat, induction and remap, all made over 310WHP  The best made 335 ATW all runing 1.7 peak 1.45 held.

From what I've heared/ been told Mat, by reputable tuners. It aint all quite what we were expecting? Hence why ND aint using it? :???:

It certainly doesn't seem to have the punch/ effect of the older mivec/newer VTEC! Weather this is a good or bad thing? I dunno

I only drive them

You know more than me about these things, the new engine is certainly responding well to low end/cheaper mods but is this another example of mitsubishis ability to send out cars that need modifying as soon as they're driven out of the dealership? Or is it import regs? :???:

I can't speak for Motec or Gems, but Autronics does have full Mivec Cam control on SM4.

Whoosh -

The reason Nd didnt use the mi-vec in his new car is because he used his old engine out of his evo 7 !

And im not saying anything about the shell!

Hi mate,

Not surprised he used his VII engine

and i quote "It's not full mivec,it's just variable inlet pulley control" "people say it's brilliant, this is great-but it's not at all"

It is brilliant, for up to a possible 500 ATF? The truth is nobody knows yet Steve because nobody's found its limits as yet, so i would say that that statement is far to generalised
I'm sure the JUN IX is enough evidence of what potential the car has
