Well , another NR Autosport engine go...

...ing great

Afew weeks ago number 4 rod let go - not a rod bolt failure , it was the centre section that decided it'd had enough .

So , it was swiftly recovered to the NR workshops where we had a probe around and looked at what was left of my engine .

Their was a whole about 9inch tall and 3inch wide in the block ! Not good !

Nick and I sat down and discussed the options........

........TBH the was no option , it had to be a forged engine

Nick sorted an evo 8 block , ordered the same crank and oil pump matched with JE pistons and Crower Rods . Once the head came off we discovered that the piston had touched the four valves when it'd become detached from the rod !

Four new valves and one new valve guide later the head was back from the machine shop all ready to bolt on .
The block came back at the same time .

Nick then set too building up the engine , refitting all the removed parts - together with Chris the engine was re-fitted to the car .

After doing my 1000 miles running in @ very slow teduious speeds i returned the car to the NR workshops where it had afew checks and an oil change .

Later that evening we had a mapping session , with the boost only @ 1.8 it's an animal .
The new lump sounds sweet as a nut and really is impressive.

In the next week or so after acouple of tweeks and a pipe change or two it'll have another mapping session and rise the boost upto 2.0 bar

The new engines a credit to the NR Autosport name , it' out standing the results achived - i can't wait to get it on the rollers on full boost .

Anyone looking to have their car looked after and tuned by the best can't go wrong with NR Autosport .

Nick , Chris and Luke are well worth a visit for anything Evo related !

A job very well done lads ,

Thanks for all your hard work and late nights

Thank's Alric , @ only 1.8 bar it's somewhat fruity

I did the MLR top gear sprint in it , i managed 3rd in class and 10th over-all WITHOUT launching and on road tyres with std shockers and goemerty setting too .

Can't wait for 2.0 bar

it's fun ! especially in the wet .
Sprint times are ok too , did the top gear sprint and came 3rd in class and 10th overall on std shocks and road tyres.

everyone who finished before me was either running cut slicks and or running coilovers .

I'm more than happy even ar 1.8 bar - 2.0 will just be the icing on the cake
