Well, ill tell ya what i can...being i am from Canada the laws vary slightly. Ive had a few friends/co-wrkers bring older Evos to N. America and usually its hassle free. The 2main things are the cost of bringing ie shipping/loading/dockunloading and documenting. This alone comes to about 3000Can funds. It depends on what and how anal the dock guys are about your car. One friend brought a URQ from Germany over and got hit with an extra $1000bill b/c the car was dirty and it was unholy for foreign dirt to hit Canadian soil. A hazmat style team came in, put the car in a rubber shack and preasure washed it for an hour. Your best bet to pull off something like that would be to travel to the country and find/set up the car for delivery. This will keep you sane and the buyer sane during the transaction. Also, check with your laws on importing vehicles.
Becuase of the crash ratings on most fun cars including the EVO's they will never be brought to Canada or allowed. THe loop hole is, if the cars 15yrs old, or older, they dont care aslong as it passes safty. So keep that inmind.
Hope that helps and sorry for the long windedness!
Dave
Oh, and the reason behind no Evo's or the VW Golf r32 is the law states. Any vehicle in a frontal accident at less than 8kph must not do any damage($$) to the vehicle. Evo in that accident byebye fmic, and R32 byebye headlights...This is why all canadian euro cars have gross huuuge bumpers etc compared to the euro built cars
