Evo IX vs Scooby Vs the world

Right I'm getting a bit of a battering atm

I've nicked Bazzas pic as an illustration! I fully expect to get another battering in a minute but hey here goes.

I think Subaru have the looks thing right here. I think the looks are far more aggressive than the EVO!
Mitsubishi have continued to water down the aggressive side of this one time rally slag to the point that it's now just another rep mobile, akin to some chav sticking vents in their vectra bonnet. Who sacked the designer?

Although Mitsubishi have, doubtless improved yet again mechanically, the asthetic side of this car, can at best be described as drab!

I would be far more fired up to see the new scooby WRC car than the EVO.

Now on the flip side the VI has been described as dated and even chavvy

But for me the classic look still has much more presence than either of the above! Evolution, hmm not so sure guys??????? :-?

What do you reckon guys? Hit or miss?

Ian. If I ever wanted a new weekend toy it would be the scooby!

Whats the point of waiting to drive a car all week just for it to look like it will fit perfectly into Sainsburys car park????

You're completely wrong steve. :P

The IX is the best looking Evo yet if you ask me, I wasn't so keen on the rounded front of the VIII (although the MR improved it a lot).

VI's do look dated to me, still great cars mind you. But overall each generation has got quicker and gained in it's tuning potential. The only area where the VI still has it is the good, lower, driving position, the VII+ are all unneccessarily tall.

The new Scoobies do look good, but they're still not up to Evo performance, and that's what matters to me.

Nik, I agree in part with what you are saying and please notice, I covered the mechanical side in my first post.

The looks of the IX is my issue! It's a vectra on steriods

I'd rather have the scoob.....................well that's balls really, I'd rather keep my VI :hehe: :hehe:

Sure steve, looks are very personal. I think it's what you get used to. When i first saw a VII, i thought mitsi had really screwed up the look of the Evo, now i like it so much i've bought one. And afterall even the VI is just a charisma on steriods

Subaru are doing a good job, but when you're ready to change lose the GSR and get and RS 8)

Nik, the RS would be my next choice of car :muhaha:

I am being hypothetical really as I have no desire for a newer weekend car atm. A better weekday car would be nice if I could afford it though!

If the weekend car was to go it would be replaced with an RSS without doubt

well i know over here the viii are only 260 brake
so that would definately be a no no for me
the VIII here is €56,995 and is definately not as quick as the VI
as ive driven it
but the STI on the other hand looks nice and feels similar and is only €53,995

And I'll reply with the same as I did with Nik.

So are there any tuning options available for this yet or are they saving them for the X?????

Serious question as III have no idea
