Service question?

Noticed in the service book that the car needs an initial service at 1000 miles or 6 weeks and seeing as its coming up to nearly 6 weeks I thought I'd better book it in for the service.

So got the missus to phone the dealer up and arrange for a suitable time to take the car in,but when she phoned them they said it doesn't need an initial service.

Is this correct?

Just that I was talking to someone on another forum a few weeks back who'd just bought a 340 and I remember him saying he'd done 1000 miles in the first 2 weeks and was taking his car in for its initial service.

Your right though, Mitsubishi no longer do the 1000 mile service, or so the tech guy at Perth told us (Ralliart garage), but as said above, can't beat a oil change.
