Clutch opinions please guys

Ok....I am going to be changing my clutch ready for TOTB

What do you guys reckon I should go for in the line of the best launching clutch?

The options we are considering are the:

Exedy twin plate

Alcon paddle

6 puk paddle

Let me have your views please chaps to help us decide, If any of you have the ones listed above how do you find them?

Tina,

As the cars your daily driver I would strongly recommend the exedy twin plate!

A very very good clutch and a bit more forgiving than the paddle.

I'm going for the paddle cause I hardly use the car!

But the exedy is almost as durable and certainly as responsive as the Alcon!!!!

Whatever you decide good luck with it! I would think long and hard before putting a paddle in the evo because of how much you use the car tho! IMHO I think the exedy would be perfect for you

Thanks for your advice Glen

I think that Nik is running an Alcon (sorry nik I can't remember what you said it was) ops: And he reckons that its fine, so I must say I'm still unsure what to do :-?

I am torn between the two, but tend to be pushing myself to go for the Exedy twin plate coz I think it would withstand the power pushing through it better (looking at pushing out around 450-500bhp) Don't mean to sound daft but Do you think the Alcon would cope with the power at this level as well as the Exedy twin?

Whatever I go for it has to be able to cope with lots and lots of launches!

Edited to say that I'm not too worried how stiff it is, I kinda need an excuse to stop using the car as an everyday drive! Although I'm used to driving a 6 puk in the Supra

It's a 6 paddle Tina,

It's easy enough to use, although not as smooth as any organic clutches i really don't find it hard to use.

I was wondering about your power though, i wanted one that would be good to 450 max, i know it was ok for me, but i'd check with someone about how much power it's good for.

You're more than welcome to try mine next time we meet up.

I'd pick the strongest one i think (lots and lots of launches  ), it's got to take a bit of NOS kick on your car too, or are you planning on smoothing that out a bit with the new turbo?
