VII interior wear

This is pointed at owners of VIIs really, I've noticed that the interior of mine isn't wearing too well at all. It had 10k miles on it when I bought it 18 months ago, now 19k. The alcantara / suede on the driver's seat base bolster is looking pretty worn, the pile has gone flat, there is almost a shine to it in fact. It was ok when I got it, but it seems that me dragging my posterior across it 4+ times per day is taking it's toll. Ditto the steering wheel, on the right hand side where it gets held the most, the leather has gone dull and has less texture to it than the rest of the wheel.

I'm a bit disappointed really that it is looking so second hand at this sort of mileage, granted the VII seats are pretty tight, so it's hard not to catch the bolsters when getting in and out, but still...

How are other VII owners finding theirs? Dral? Tina?

TM honey, mine is going the same way hun I thought at first that it might be the amount we use it, coz it's an everyday car for me, and our big a$$es between us do a lot of dragging too! but like you described in your above post the seat is going shiny and looking quite worn! :-? I've done 42,000 miles.

Steering wheel too honey, I noticed that a few months back and posted on here about it then, the leather is actually peeling off

Looks like new seats might be on my Christmas list this year then :muhaha:

Hehe, nice piece of editing the quote there... Bastid. :muhaha:

Back on topic, if anyone has a mint condition VII steering wheel, let me know.

Regarding the seat, I wonder if a decent trimmer could replace the affected sections of material. Failing that, I think I'll save for a nice leather re-trim.

Thanks for the replies everyone (except JPO, obviously.)

My seats going the same way plus my steering wheel is the same. Was quoted £1000 for a new steering wheel from a Mitsubishi dealer, that can't be right can it ????
