TOTB III Your Thoughts

First of all I DID GO!

But I was pissed off before I even got there. I got done for speeding on the M62. 97mph and 30 minute lecture, I almost told him to shut the fu<k up and just give me my ticket. :x

Then I realised I was actually going the 'wrong' way on the M62, another wasted 1/2 Hour. :x

Then my routemap I'd printed out was 'wrong'! :x And when I finally got to Elvington, even though I had a ticket, you still had to queue with the 'riff raff'. :x

I did park in the MLR area, which amazingly the stewards knew about, anybody notice a lovely S4??

I apologise for not intoducing myself to you guys, but I was in a very 'dark' mood by the time I arrived. And it didn't lift all day, because the organisation of the event was, quite frankly, SH!TE.
Don't get me wrong, I'm refering to the 'organisation' not the 'competitors', who were all very enthusiastic. But as for spectator facilities,,,,,,,, well you don't get much for your money IMO.
It was a bit 'voyeuristic' watching all the MLR crowd, I recognised a few faces, and wern't there were some right fu<king miserable ones, too.

I,m sure I would of enjoyed it more if I,d said hello, but when I'm in a bad mood I can't handle rejection!!

What do other people think about the organisation of the event??

JPO,

I too thought the organisation was appaling..

Why oh why did they put the PS2 tent in the place where the spactators can actually see a bit of action???

I got bored of watching cars launch down the 1/4 mile and spent a lot of time watching the handling circuit.. Well, I would have watched the handling circuit if I remembered my hubble telescope!! :x

Wow, I can just see a car in the distance but cannot enjoy the view as I cant see what the fuck is going on as I am too far away!! It was the same last year too..

Nobody knew what the fuck was going on, who was doing what etc. They didn't announce the handling shootout so I missed that..

Still, the Evo's absolutely dominated the handling circuit AND recorded the fastest 1/4 of the day [RC Developments Evo VI].

But overall the GTR Register won [again] and Rocket Ronnie had the most points so he won overall [again].. 8)

With, not a lot, more thought it could be so much better next year, I expect I'll go.

They 'did' announce all the events, only the PA System was a of an even lower quality than the standard of the organisation. I expect V Bird could have knocked together something more reliable out of his 'spares' jar!!

Bloody hell mate sorry about the ticket, got 3 points a couple weeks back myself, pathetic baskets got nothing better to do than book sports cars.

whats more dangerous ? a S4 doing 97 or a metro doing 80 ? with brakes like those found on a bmx or worse.

General concensus is totb was a disater such a shame because with a bit of organisation i suspect it could have been a great day out for all.

Yep, points are a pain mate!! I suppose I should consider myself lucky, I was doing 140+ earlier that morning, but I don't. Bastids...

One of the good things about the day was being able to get 'up close' to the cars.
What they need, among other things, is a spectator 'island' in the middle of the handling circuit. This can be protected with a concrete barrier, costs money but they must of made a fortune. Also a covered grandstand where the PS2 tent was, and all along that bit. They could pay for the grandstand with a 'modest' additional charge. Shift all the other stuff together. The food arrangements, location etc were fine, only next time find some caterers that can 'posion' you properly! Finally invite a crowd of thieving, dirty 'gippo' basta<ds, and ask them to set up their 'funfair'..........

I should really charge a 'consultancy' fee for this!!

A spectators island would be great. But again, they won't put their hands in their pockets if 5,000 people are willing to pay out £20.00 a year..

Thats £100,000 [If I can add up]

People will expect to see an improvement or, other than the real diehards, they won't return. I will go next year, but if it hasn't improved I wont go again. I would imagine a lot of people will be the same. They need to 'invest' in order to maximise their 'return'.

Did you see the state of that double decker bus FFS!! They should have given it a shot of 'nitrous' and lauched it up the runway, never to be seen again. I,ve seen more sophisticated control rooms at the village fete..........

You mean this one?? I went back to my car (at the front of the 2nd pic) several times during the day (I had a HUGE coolbox crammed with food - couldn't face queuing for crappy dirtburgers ) but you were never around. Sorry about the picture sizes!
