EVO VI

G'day folks - the newest newbie here !

Im looking to buy an Evo VI 8) in the VERY near future and I was wondering wther there are any dealers you guys would recommend and even better name & shame those dealers that I should avoid ! ! !

Im currently runnung a 2003 Hoda Civic Type R Silver, with a Pipercross Viper induction kit, just covered 13K and its received its 1st service. i will be looking to part ex this against the Evo but what I dont want to do is sell a decent car and pick up a dog

I am also picking up a company car so the EVO will just be a weekend toy

Any ideas/suggestions? Yam3's prices look cool - about 12.1K for a Tomi with 32K on the clock  However, I expect there are some further charges in there somewhere

Welcome Jonny C

please feel free to ask anything you want about the EVOs.

EVO VI is a good buy, and to know where to get one maybe you need to tell us where you are at, so we can direct you

Bazza will be happy to direct u to dealers where he trust, right bazza

Hi and welcome!

Stay well clear of Keighly Motors [Leeds]! :x

I recommend Barrie and George @ Distinctive Cars York..
URL: http://www.japaneseimportspecialists.co.uk/

I was close to buying an imported Evo VI through them but found a UK car with under 10k on the clock locally! :P

Will be buying an MR2 Turbo through them some time soon..

If you want to know more about Evo's and what to look for check out my buyers guide: http://www.lancer-evo.net/php/manuals.php

Hope you find what you are looking for..

Bazza

Cheers Guys, I'll have a look. (by the way I am in the Midlands - Coventry but would be prepared to travel for the right vehicle) !

I got a quote from Yam3 yesterday but I couldnt fulfill it cause they needed a reply & deposit straight away as the car is being auctoned today.

It was an EVO 6 Tomi Makkinen 21.5K (Kms) Grade 4??? all in costs to Southampton Port £11,800    I realise that there is duty vat on top but it was still a cracking price - shame I havent sold my Type R

Anyway - Im off to check the sites - speak to you all later

Thanks again.

The Type R is a nice car but in all honesty (you guys know this) its in a different league to an EVO

I used to have a Scoobie back in 2000 but had a pretty bad crash, I've had a couple of Normal cars since then and the Type R was my first step back in to the performance world and now I want more !

I've always druelled over Evos in the past so I think now is the time to seriously look at buying one.

Another small point - wever just had a baby (3months ago) and its a bit of a pain with just the 2 doors. i.e. getting the seat in & out (this is one of the arguments for an Evo to the missus )

Spent some time today emailing and talking to Barrie at Distinctive Cars - they know there stuff. I reckon I'll deffo by my EVO from them. Barrie recons with the money I am prepared to spend there should be no probs with sourcing a mint under 30K milage EVO VI 8) 8) 8)

Now I am getting excited

You Know I'm not so keen on the later Evos (looks wise) I think they look too tame - just my personal opinion but I think the VI was the last really good agressive looking EVO.

I've no specific plans for the VI (YET  ) But I'll keep coming on to this forum and having a good look at whats out there

Im thinking that if I get a Blue one then its deffo gonna have White alloys and maybe the top "Blade" of the wing at the rear will match in nicely in white. As for power mods, I'll have to get a bit more familiar with the car first............................................. they'll come though !

I know what you mean about the VII and VIII CT9A Evo's..

But the MR to me is by far the ultimate looking Evo!!
