Evo In a Small Community

If you live on a small housing estate-maybe even a cul-de-sac, how was your evo received by others in your street? I haven't had one long but have had reactions across the spectrum.

Everybody knows everyone's business and I think that works to my good as far as security goes. But now the neighbours are moaning that I am lowering the tone with my car.

Hahaha! Sorry, that kind of stuff always makes me laugh and just snub my nose at people. I have always had 2nd hand cars and not all of them have been good looking. At least the Evo is a good looking car. You could always tell them if they don't like it to get you something they want to see. Something tells me they'd rather you have an Evo than they would rather buy you a Jag or something

My neighbors used to moan at me when I first bought my IV home until I pointed out that theres a Scooby,200SX and often a DB9 parked on the same road that were alot noisier than mine and that the exhaust is legal.

I think as long as your not silly about it and don't leave the car running for a long period of time on the drive, or cause a nusence then people get used to it and accept that every now and then there will be some noise from your side of the street.

I have always lived in small communities and neighborhoods where everyone knows everyone else's business but you are talking about the car you drive. I would have to say something along the lines of sorry and get over it. I mean it's not like it's purple with yellow polka dots...is it?

Oooooh, I like the sound of that colour scheme! Neighbours can just be a pain in the bum can't they.

Noise from neighbours really drives me nuts. You can just be careful and considerate of the neighbours like outlined above. If they are clearly being unreasonable then just ignore them, but if you are coming and going in the middle of the night and leaving the engine running or revving a lot, then they have a right to complain. There are laws about making too much noise at the wrong times, which is why I tell you this, because you don't want to get caught out by a neighbour complaining.
