Petrol-Brand Loyalty

When it comes to filling up your baby, is there a station that you prefer to use? What company is it? Is there a reason that you prefer to avoid the other petrol companies?

I tend to go just for who is cheapest, but I have a friend who will only buy from one station, and it seems a little odd.

Dodgy Petrol

I got dodgy petrol from Tesco. Contaminated with silicon I think. Had to drop the tank and clean it out. I reckon I'll stick with BP.

How would it get contaminated with silicon? I don't know what happens to it in transport, or in the pumps-so where would that come from?

So it seems that Tesco is out. Are BP and Shell both decent, or does Shell have the edge?

Tesco said it came from storage tanks at a depot in Essex. It was in the headlines in the spring. Car was running flat. Check light came on. Reset it. Came on again. Had to replace the oxygen sensor and and and.... what rubbish.

So did Tesco's end up paying out for any of the damage that was done by their duff petrol? It sounds like you had to shell out because of them, and that cost really should have been compensated by them.

I am shamelessly loose with my loyalty to a petrol brand. In fact, I get AROUND. Of course I just have a dodgey little saturn, my boyfriend is very neurotic about his evo though. I don't believe I've ever been with him when he's filled it... The tank is just always full. He thinks if it gets low on gas it might get unhappy or something... hehe
