Yip.

    £300 road tax for gas guzzlers. Oh goody.

Surely we're paying enough tax every time we fuel up.

Road tax and fuel duty

Fuel duty will rise 2p a litre but the hike will be delayed six months, until October. The top-rate of road tax will rise to £400 in two years but will be cut from £50 to £35 for the most fuel-efficient cars. The green lobby will argue that the Chancellor has not gone far enough. The motoring lobby will point out that this mix of policies is unlikely to reduce the number of miles driven.

and yes income tax is down to 20p in the pound instead of 22p :-)

correct but this is in 2 stages, 1stly upto 300 notes 07/08 then from 08 it will be 400 notes

but dont be alarmed its not going too effect all us evo owners

It will only effect those whos Evo was registered after 23rd March 2006.

If your car is registered before 23rd March 06 then you'll be in band F, which is only going up £10 this year and £5 in each of the next 2 years. HAPPY DAYS!!!

well the good news is that i dont smoke so thats more petrol to throw in the evo :-) , bad news is that i was thinking of upgrading from my evo 7 to a 9 but if the tax difference is that much think ill stick with my 7

also ive jus seen that the income tax drop depends on what you earn if you earn £14000 a year then will be worse off by £90 but if you earn £25000 a year then you will be better of by as much as £129 robbin from the poor to give to the rich if you ask me :x
