REAL BAD NEWS (WARNING)

As some of you might no, = http://www.lancer-evo.net/community/...ic.php?t=18470

i brought a modified Evo 4 from a place in the midlands called

DAITOKU (Midlands specialist cars ltd)

Went and fetched it thurs morning , from driving 5miles his place to my home, there was blue smoke every were
as i dont no much about evo's i pulled over open'd the bonnet and there was oil every were,

I rang the bloke straight away and he said 2 much oil inn, which he must of put in first place, he said fill back up
and it will be ok, so got my grandad to do it (ex-mechanic)

Went a little drive , come back, open'd bonnet, oil every were,

He told me to go too a performance shop in midlands called PJ PERFORMANCE, and all credit to these guys told
me straight off that 3 of the pistons were 40% down on allowence to be which around 5-9%

And bill inc labour would cost £2799#

obvious i go back to the company DAITOKU and said what you wanna do about bill.
He rang me back 30min later and said there 3 options

a) He will pay Half the damages of engine
b) will swap for another evo (bad condition)
c) will give me my money back minus what it will cost to re-pair engine

i feel really hard done by that after 20min of owning the car for 20min i have too lose £1350 which is proven could
not of been my fault as 3 pistons to go would take at least 1 good day of being thrashed or just being worn down.

Any advice helpful peeps as well fu*ked off

Really sorry to hear about that bud!!

Try give Citizens Advice a call. The car must have been shafted whilst they had it if it's gone pop after 20 mins. I'm sure they'll tell you what's best to do. They may advice to give trading standards a call.

Something similar happened with a mate of mine. He bought a Z3 M Coupe a while ago. He got a warranty with it. Literally a few days after it expired engine blew. The bad annoying thing was he'd hardly used it. He went overseas & had it in his garage & he'd only covered a tiny amount of miles aswel.

The engine rebuild etc cost about £3k. They ended up paying half out of good faith even tho warranty was up.

I'd say in your case if engines f*cked after 20 mins they should either sort the bill themselves or give you FULL refund

Dam it mate , what an absolute nightmare , feel for ya i really do

Perhaps a call to citizens advice and trading standards might be called for to see exactly where you stand in the eyes of the law.

but will have £13k - £13.5k to get one advice also helpful please,

Waiting to here from the company to what is going to happen,

Gutted thats all i can say, as i luv the look of it and only put a smile on my face owning a evo @ 19 years old

Have you told the garage you're seeking legal advice?

If not it may give them a kick up the arse to give you a refund Tell them you've spoken to Trading Standards & that you're within your legal rights to claim 100% of your hard earned £ back!!

Also £13k will get you a very very very nice 6, or 7 or possibly an 8. There's a 2000V Ralliart Evo6 on the a/t at the mo for £13,995 with 48k on the clock

Yeah i have seen that the purple one, obviously 9k would be better as then would have couple of k to spend on it personalising it.

There is a nice white 1 for sale in forsale section, who ever that is, contact me, as looks stunning

I bought my Evo V on Saturday :-)

Was up for £9k, he wanted £8.5k but the blokes wifes mate caught the front bumper in supermarket car park the other week so we kinda agreed on £8k over the phone cos all he said it needed was scratch sorting & alloys refurbing.

When i got there i said there's no way i would pay £8k. The rear bumper also needs a scractch sorting & the rest of the paint work is dull as f*ck. Needs a really good buff to bring it back to life. He said it had been valeted day before but there was dust all over dash & carpets were mucky. Seats hadn't even been vacumed properly

Anyways, the important stuff, engine, gearbox, brakes etc are all 100%. It's got FSH with nearly £17k of bills, mainly with SAS- Performance in Hampshire. It's got 51k on clock & he had it from new imported by Warrender.

Got quite a few extras thrown in, radar detector, jammer etc.

Still, main thing is i got it for less than £8k. I took £8k with me so was glad to save some £. Can use that for paint work & alloys
