Of the two i'd prefer the VW, they're solidly built and i've seen some very fast track prepped ones about. I can't help but think it'd be more reliable too.

(and I'm sorry,but I have ask if you've considered a CRX)....

Must admit at first I thought the Pug, but the Golf was a pretty fine bit of kit in its day :muhaha:

So get the Golf...either way they are both so cheap to fix and run compared to tracking an evo :muhaha:

I just love the 205 1.9 gti. Had one when i was a young man as well 8) had it for 2 years with no problems apart from alternator. Would be better with the mi16 engine conversion though which is not an expensive job :muhaha:

well was gonna be the golf all day long until a mate turned up in his miami blue 1.9 pug that is absolutely mint and i mean mint and i took it for a drive.ive had four pugs in the past one1.6 and one 1.9 from new plus a 1.9 with the mi6 conversion but this little beaut took me straight back to when i 1st drove my 1.9 years ago and worst of all he said i could have it for 2k its only got 54k mls onit and he has pampered it since he bought it in 93.a golf mk1 in this condition would cost up to 5k or maybe more.but my heart is still with the golf as i stillhave a g60 supercharged lump tp drop in one as ive done before
