Skyline R33 GTR.. Mmmmm...

Guys,

I am seriously considering this baby: http://www.smartycars.com/calder/det...6&Dealer_ID=29

Any comments on the Skyline?? A few friends have GTR's and they are a seriously quick when tuned to around 450bhp.. Or will I kill myself attempting to drive the GTR like an Evo across the Yorkshire moors? ops:

It looks a good one, i love that colour ( phew oof: bit out the way).

I looked at R33 GTR before i got my yellow 7, i wasn't too impressed with the drive to be honest, it really felt like a cruiser. With R33 i'd always wish i had a R34 too...

but i also saw a 03 (i think) plate car badged as a 350GT skyline a couple of months ago, i've never seen anything similar, it looked like a bigger 350z, is there a skyline after the R34?

Dral - I would love an R34.. But I have a feeling I will be disappointed with its overall drive.. I have been driving the Evo everyday [short 10 mile runs] and it still blows me away..

There is a new shape Skyline.. Its shit though..

I think you would find the drive dull, i was quite keen to get one but the R33 i drove felt very mundane, it was straight line quick, but dull.

If you've got that much spare cash, how about a DC5 integra, they're not as quick but from the cars i've driven only a V-Tec honda comes close to (or beats  ) an evo to drive. Cheap to run too.

I love them Bazza, that's what I really wanted before I bough my 7, that colour too, I never got round to driving one though!
The thing that swayed me was that I could buy a 2 year old low mile evo for the same money as a 7 or 8 year old skyline with 50k on the clock. Once I'd driven an evo, the decision was made. Just wish they made a better noise...

That looks a superb example though, how many miles has it done?. If you can afford that and the evo, you must have deep pockets mate!! I'm not just talking about the purchase cost, but servicing, insurance and of course, tuning.
