It depends on where you want to be in the pack and your driving style. If you want to be in the front every time you will need a new set every weekend. If you are out to have a good time and are happy with mid pack you can get a couple weekends out of a set.
Tire wear also depends on drivers style. Smooth driving is fast and also more tire friendly. Have you ever tried to set a record lap only to run a slower time and your fastest lap felt like it would be slow. When you tried to set the fast lap you over drove the car and also took more life from the tire.
